Firstly sorry for the lack of posts guys - I’ve been MEGA busy this month with numerous projects!

So lets chat about Google’s new much requested feature that is now available to Adwords customers.
Googles Day Parting feature basically allows advertisers to switch their adwords advertising on or off at certain times of the day, so for example you could have your adwords ads displayed from 9am - 7pm and then switch it off late in the evening when perhaps less people will be in a buying mood.

This feature requires a lot of experimenting and a great knowledge of your particular business - if your not careful you could end up missing loads of buyers by switching it off at a certain time of day.

Another feature of this system is that you can just reduce your bids on keywords for certain times of day instead of just switching of advertising too.

At present those advertisers he know what time the buyers are online most may be able to eliminate some of the ‘tyre kickers’ who click on their ads at a certin period throughout the day but rarely buy.

Our friends at Google have just released a new free tool Called Google Calendar. Here’s the basic run down of features from the horses mouth:

  • Seeing the big picture
With Google Calendar, you can see your friends’ and family’s schedules right next to your own; quickly add events mentioned in Gmail conversations or saved in other calendar applications; and add other interesting events that you find online.
  • Sharing events and calendars
You decide who can see your calendar and which details they can view. Planning an event? You can create invitations, send reminders and keep track of RSVPs right inside Google Calendar. Organizations can promote events, too.
  • Staying on schedule
You can set up automatic event reminders, including SMS notifications, and instantly bring up anything on your calendar with the built-in search tool.

I may well use this for business purposes as it’s a great way to schedule work with employees.

Google have a nice feature that I hadn’t heard about until today - it’s a simple feature that allows you to have search results for your chosen term emailed to you as often as you want.

For example, if you wanted to monitor how well you were doing for the search term “making money online” you just go to: http://www.google.com/alerts type in the search term “making money online” and put in your email and of you go.

It’s a great way to see how well your doing, or perhaps how well your competition is doing too. Also you could use a site: www.yourdomain.com search to see when Google has indexed your Website which is always useful to know!
