Hi folks - coming to you from Baltimore in Maryland USA today! How would you like to know exactly where on your website people are clicking? Obviously this would be extremely useful as you can then adjust your text and images about to give the user an even better experience and improve the navigation of your site.

I was told about an amazing free service called www.crazyegg.com the other day and as a result of using their service my sales are up!

It basically gives you a very cool heatmap over a screen shot of your website so you can see what people are upto on your site. With the free trial you can only monitor 4 pages of your site at once but it is well worth it - just do your homepage and main money making pages.

Give it a try today!

First of all, shame on me! I have been very busy and have not found time to write anything on my blog over the last couple of months.

However let’s get back on track and I’ll tell you about a very useful site I have been trying out called www.hittail.com.

In it’s own words:
“HitTail reveals in real-time the least utilized, most promising keywords hidden in the Long Tail of your natural search results. We present these terms to you as suggestions that when acted on will boost the natural search results of your site. It’s that simple.”

When they say act upon, what they mean is improve the page for the keyword it currently is found for. For example if you are at number 8 in Google for “magicians favourite tricks” by improving the quality of the content on the page and optimizing it better for the keyword you should move up the rankings and get more visits.

Most stats packages just tell you what keywords you are being found for but they don’t tell you what position in the search engines you were for it. Hit Tail scores your search engine position so you know where you are for that search term and on what engine.

My plan is to use this and when Hot Tail recommends I work on a keyword I will get one of my writers hired from www.elance.com to write on article on the keyword.
Hopefully this will result in more traffic for that keyword over time :-)

Go see the video about it at: http://www.hittail.com/demo/

If you have ever had to set up an Adwords campaign and get all your keywords ready, you’ll know that you will need to be bidding on exact match, phrase match and broad keywords. For Example:

pet products
“pet products”
[pet products]

If you have a list of keywords as long as your arm it will take you forever to put the quotes or brackets around each keyword.

This free tool will save you hours:

I have had two tools to do the job up until now but they were both pay monthly software which is never nice!
